Launch Into Nepal And Sri Lanka

    4/2/2018

We had a great launch for the College of Prayer in Nepal and Sri Lanka. Rev. Jon Mitchell, our Executive Director, along with two pastors from the U.S. and our National Coordinator for India, Rev. Stephen Sundilla, established “hub” campuses in Kathmandu, Nepal March 14-16 and in Madampe, Sri Lanka March 19-21. In both locations, the first part of our Year 1 Curriculum, “Lord, Teach Us to Pray” was taught and then a day was spent teaching the Advanced Leadership Training so that those pastors and church leaders attending became equipped to launch their own College of Prayer Campuses throughout the country.

The 60 pastors, women leaders, and youth leaders that attended in Nepal were fully engaged. There were significant moments of repentance and hunger for a move of God. The evangelical church in this country is very young; roughly 60 years old. We have an incredible opportunity to invest early in the life of the church here, helping it become rooted in prayer and power! Out of this hub campus, 7 Regional Campuses will launch in the next 6 months (the first is launching in May). These Campuses, led by those we are mentoring and training in Kathmandu, will bring together multiple churches for fellowship, prayer, worship, and empowerment. Several Local Church Campuses will also launch that are serving more isolated churches that can’t gather as freely or easily. There were so many great testimonies from the church leaders who attended. Here are just a few:
“Thank you for reviving the pastors from these village districts. It’s a great privilege. All of us are leaving empowered. Many were saying there were a lot of distractions before they came here, and now they know why - because of the blessing this has brought. The enemy wanted to keep them away.”

“Before I came here I was very thirsty for God. I was dry inside. I was saying, ‘Lord, I don’t want to die.’ I was filled 10 years ago with the Holy Spirit but never much since. I was filled with Holy Spirit here. Today I’m here because of what God’s doing in my life. I leave here different than before I came, and through my life God will use me to change others lives.”

“Thank you Pastor Jon for your investment to minister to our churches, our pastors, and leaders in our country. It was reviving and renewing our souls, body, and spirit to continue for the expansion of His Kingdom in this mountain kingdom.”
In Sri Lanka we had 30 pastors and church leaders gather who oversee roughly 1/3 of the churches in the network we are serving, meaning they are shepherding thousands of Christians in this beautiful country. They will launch 6 new Regional Campuses and at least 8 new Local Church Campuses. Jon Mitchell said, “When I first came to Sri Lanka in 2005, I witnessed the devastating effects of the tsunami that had destroyed so many lives. This time, I have witnessed a life-giving tsunami of God’s love, truth, forgiveness, healing, and power that will revive the church and reach the lost.” Here are a few testimonies from pastors who attended:
“I have been a pastor for 15 years. I have been to many trainings and many teams have come here. They preach, teach, and they go. This team is different. I have never seen a team like this. You have not just come to teach, you have knelt down and prayed with us, you have prayed for our nation, and prayed for our families. You have all become one of us.”

“Before I was saved I used to worship idols. I also bowed down and worshipped demons. Here at the College of Prayer I saw even the teachers falling down on the floor and worshipping the Lord! That has given me courage to worship the Lord. Two years ago three co-workers hurt our church and left us. It was painful to my heart. I knew I shouldn’t, but still had hatred toward them. Yesterday I was able to forgive them completely. I’ve been doing ministry for 33 years, but for the first time I learned the depth of the Lord’s Prayer pattern. It was very encouraging to me.”

“Thanks brother for giving me this privilege. I was renewed and restored and strengthened in the presence of Christ. Thank you so much."
Thank you to all who prayed and supported the launch of the College of Prayer in these two great countries. Thousands of lives will continue to be impacted as we continue to mentor, train, and equip pastors and leaders to reach a lost world through a revived church!
