The College of Prayer International is run by four separate, but equally important groups of people: International Leadership Team, Regional Directors, Board of Directors and hundreds of Volunteers.
INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP TEAM
Our International Leadership Team oversees the day-to-day operations and moves forward the vision of the ministry around the world. They work hand-in-hand with Regional Directors to provide logistical, financial and spiritual support for campuses and communicate the vision and needs of the ministry wherever doors of opportunity are opened.
Rev. Fred Hartley, III
As President of the College of Prayer International, Fred is our visionary leader. He was mentored by Armin Gesswein, whose ideas and passions helped shape the College of Prayer. Fred is also the Lead Pastor at Lilburn Alliance Church, a multi-ethnic church located in metro Atlanta, GA where he and his wife Sherry have served since 1988. Fred is the author of 18 books, many of which are on our Resources page. Sherry Hartley, Fred's wife, is the mother of four and grandmother of ten. She grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and graduated from Wheaton College with a BA in Elementary Education. She has been part of the College of Prayer since it began in 1997. Utilizing her gifts of service she keeps our team of intercessors informed about College of Prayer modules being facilitated around the world. We are privileged to have her serve as our Prayer Director, which includes leading intercessors in prayer for the protection, fullness and blessing of the ministry. Rev. Jon Mitchell
Jon is a graduate of Toccoa Falls College where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration and LeTourneau University where he received his MBA. His professional experience, educational background, and longevity with our ministry position him well to help give oversight to our growth and traction to our vision. As a revivalist, he has led hundreds of prayer gatherings around the world and is passionate about seeing lives ignited by the manifest presence of Christ. Jon loves spending time with his wife and three little girls, as well as watching the Alabama Crimson Tide beat other teams in football.
Rev. Fred Hartley, IV
Church Relations Director
Fred has had 15 years of pastoral experience serving congregations in Ohio, Florida and Minnesota. He received his Masters Degree in Leadership at Columbia International University and his undergrad at Toccoa Falls College. Fred is strongly relational and compassionate, as well as administrative and organizational. With the rapid expansion of our ministry, his role will enable us to work pastor-to-pastor with local churches throughout the U.S. Fred and his wife Joanna have four children: Allan (13), Gabrielle (11) Luke (8) & Isaac (2). Fred loves to spend quality time with his family, do evangelism and play golf.
Rev. Bill Hyer
In 1987, Bill and his wife Michelle started Christ Church EPC in Anderson, SC which he pastored for 23 years. As a member of the Presbytery of the Mid-Atlantic, he served for many years as chairman and a member of the Ministerial Committee and as Moderator of the Presbytery. In July 2015 Bill became Pastor of a new church plant called Reigning Grace Church in Madison, MS. Bill loves his wife, learning about most anything and sports. Bill's passion is to love and live for God and to know the Word of God (Ezra 7:10) and teach it (2 Tim. 2:2) so that people will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and grow as His disciples (Matt. 28:19).
Lisa was born in Owensboro, KY and attended Western Kentucky University where she majored in New Testament Studies and History. She has been mentoring women and teaching Bible studies ever since. “Prayer and mentoring women has always been my primary ministry. Learning to pray has been one of the things that has most changed my life and it has opened doors for me all over the world.” Lisa is responsible for Growth Groups, Pastoral Care, and Leadership Development at Risen King Church in New City, NY. Her hobbies are painting, reading, and interior design.
Rev. Don Young
As Pioneer Director, Don works closely with our President and Regional Directors to oversee all current and developing campuses. Don and his wife Marlen have been involved with the College of Prayer International since its inception in 1997. He has been a facilitator, Board Member, teacher and Regional Director. The Young's were formerly missionaries in West Africa for 15 years and have traveled and ministered in more than 35 countries. They have served with other ministries and as President of a Bible College. Revival prayer is their passion and they continue to teach worldwide.
Dr. Mike Plunket
Mike is the Senior Pastor at Risen King Alliance Church in New City, NY. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Pastoral Ministry Department at Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary where he earned his Doctorate of Ministry. Mike and his wife Lisa have helped start and organize five churches in Mexico City and Atlanta, GA. Their experience in church planting led them to discover some of their passions in ministry. Their main emphasis is on prayer. Mike says, “We love to be involved in prayer as a discipline and as a ministry. We have been a part of training prayer leaders, pastors, and missionaries all over the world. We love to see people get a vision for what they can do through prayer.”
