The Lord My Fortress

August 12, 2026

"I love you, O LORD...my fortress."  Psalm 18:1-2

When you take Christ as your Fortress, you are safe against sudden attacks from the enemy.

A fortress is a large, heavily fortified area, such as castle or citadel, safe and secure against enemy attack.

David was well familiar with enemy armies that were constantly warring against him, as well as the demonic evil forces that continually threatened him. The reality of Christ his Fortress is a vivid image with deep visceral significance to David.

While it's unlikely you face the threat of enemy armies that lurk at your door, you certainly face daily threats from the devil and his army of evil demonic forces.

Take Christ today as your Fortress. Jesus is your large, heavily fortified place where you can rest free from enemy attack.

When you do, you will gain an entirely new advantage against the enemy, and you will have a greater love and appreciation of Christ.

Lord Jesus, I take you today as my Fortress. My heavily fortified place where I am perfectly safe from the enemy.
