Very Present Help

October 13, 2026

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1

God is your help, but he's more than that. He's your present help.

But wait. He's even more than that. He's your very present help.

If God were your help but not present, that wouldn't be much help. He wouldn't do you much good if he wasn't there.

And to emphasize the immediacy of his being present with you, the Psalmist takes it one step further by clarifying that God is a very present help.

And in case you think for a moment that God is only there to help you when things are going smoothly, he includes a very present help in trouble.

Today God has a gift for you: a fresh revelation of the very present help in trouble.

Lord Jesus, I take you today as my very present help even when I'm in trouble.
