“God is love." 1 John 4:8, 16
Not once, but twice, God defines himself by the name Love.
Love stands alone as the strong, all-inclusive name that thoroughly captures the essence of God. Just one word, one name, Love.
If you've never tried it, I challenge you today and for the entire month, when you pray call God by the name Love.
It will change something inside your spirit. It will break down inner walls of pride, isolation, shame, and fear. It will certainly expose your pockets of rejection, unworthiness and insecurity.
And just as important, it will break off religious spirits. Too often when we approach God, we recite theological truth that only distance ourselves from encountering God for who he is. He is Love pure and simple. That is his name.
Go ahead, try it. Do it today. Do it tomorrow. Do it for a month. Love. Do it now.
Don't make it fancy. Don't add anything to it. Don't qualify it. Just go for it. Love. It will change your life. He will change your life.
Love. I call you Love. You are Love. Stamp your name Love on every square inch of my soul. I receive your name. Today I embrace your name. I declare your name. Love.
