His Name His Encounter

“I have made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known.”      John 17:26

The Name of God does not lead you to an encounter; the Name IS an encounter with God.

Every day in 2026 our Year on Fire will focus on the Name of God. We will declare his Name over every new day because his name is revealed to us so that we encounter God's manifest presence.

When Jesus completed his prayer in John 17, he summarized his entire ministry-- to make known the Name of God. There is no more significant focus we can have this year then to focus on the Name.

Anyone who loves the manifest presence of Christ, will love His Name. And anyone who loves the name will love the manifest presence of Christ. The reason Christ came was to manifest the presence of God to people. Christ manifested God’s presence during the 33 years of his incarnation, and he continues to manifest the presence of God today by manifesting to us His Name.

Whenever God chooses to make His Name known to you, it is because he wants you to encounter His Presence.

Today on the first day of the New Year, resolve in your heart to make this a year of taking hold of God’s Name, so that you can continually encounter His manifest presence.

Loving Father, make your Name known to me this year. I repent of devaluing your Name by settling for an intellectual understanding of God while missing an encounter with you. Today I take hold of all that is mine in the Name of Christ.
