A Word From Our Campus President
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that today’s youth are disillusioned with the church and leaving in unprecedented numbers, often, never to return. Others remain involved in the youth ministry of their local church, but only to appease their parents. Once they have graduated high school, they also leave the church and don’t look back.
David Perkins will be our presenter at our spring module and will be speaking on the theme “Surge Forward: Leading Real People in Prayer.” David is the Pastor of Prayer at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, is a practitioner in prayer, and has a passion for young people. He has devoted much of his energies over the past several years to bringing prayer and young people together into an ever intensifying furnace of prayer that will lead to spiritual awakening. David and his wife Renata launched a ministry in 2002 called Desperation designed to equip young people toward a wholehearted pursuit of God. They also started a collegiate house of prayer ministry called “The Furnace” that facilitates college students praying each night for a movement of God in this generation.
Whether you are young in age, young at heart or both, this module is a must. I believe God will use our time together to give us a renewed passion for Himself and for the next generation of leaders in His Church. Why not bring your youth leaders and one or two key young people with you. If you live near a community college or university, look for opportunities to invite one or two of these students to attend with you. Go one step further and pay their way. This may be just what is needed to move your church and youth ministry to the next level of influence in your community. I will look forward to seeing you on April 29th.
I am looking forward to seeing you in April!
